Enjoy the ferry crossing from Mallaig to Armadale and collect your vehicle upon arrival

We rented a car, while on the Isle of Skye, from DriveSkye and it was the MOST satisfying car rental process. Met us at the ferry, car was fantastic and dropped the car off. Simple, easy - the way things should be on vacation! 

Travelling by train

The renowned West Highland Line runs from Glasgow to the fishing port of Mallaig. It is considered one of the best railway journeys in the world. You will enjoy some of Scotland’s most spectacular scenery before crossing over the sea to Skye.

The Caledonian Sleeper offers a unique way of travelling from London to Fort William. Departing London in the evening, you will wake up in the Highlands ready for your onward journey.

The Jacobite steam train runs from April to October. You will board in Fort William and enjoy various scencic stops enroute to Mallaig.

Travelling by bus

City Link runs a daily service from Glasgow to Fort William all year round.

Shiel Buses operate a regular bus service between Fort William and Mallaig, 6 days a week.

Ferry Services

Caledonian MacBrayne operates the ferry service from mainland Scotland to the island. Ferries depart from Mallaig to Armadale on a regular basis.

We work around the ferry schedules, 7 days a week. We meet all of our customers upon arrival at the ferry terminal in Armadale as courtesy.

Onward travel connections

All vehicles must be returned to Armadale. If you are departing from another location, you will require to take a bus or taxi.

The following companies offer taxi services to various locations including Kyle of Lochalsh, Broadford and Portree:

Stagecoach run a daily bus service between Armadale and Broadford which connects to services to and from Kyle of Lochalsh.

Citylink run regular bus services from Broadford to Kyle of Lochalsh, Inverness, Fort William and Glasgow.

Scotrail operate a regular train service from Kyle of Lochalsh to Inverness.
