Getting here
Visitors to Scotland can choose to fly into Glasgow, Edinburgh or Inverness, and from here you will find good onward transport links to the Isle of Skye.
The island is linked to mainland Scotland by the Skye Bridge and by ferry, from Mallaig to Armadale and from Glenelg to Kylerhea.
To reach us, you can take the ferry crossing from Mallaig, which is operated by Caledonian MacBrayne. There are daily bus and train services from Glasgow to Mallaig, which take you through some of Scotland’s most spectacular scenery, passing iconic landmarks such as the Glenfinnan Viaduct along the way.
Travelling to Skye
Scotrail operates the renowned West Highland Line service from Glasgow to Mallaig and the bus company, City Link, runs a daily service from Glasgow to Fort William. Shiel Buses operate a regular bus service between Fort William and Mallaig.
It is always advisable to book your train and bus travel in advance, especially in the busier summer months, and to check with transport operators regarding local weather conditions and potential disruptions to ferry sailings.
